Juneteenth Litany

Call to Worship & Litany

Freedom, Faith, and Family Micah 6:8

Leader: Today we gather as children of God, grateful for the gift of freedom, the strength of

faith, and the blessing of family.

People: We come with thankful hearts and joyful spirits.

Leader: We remember those who hoped, prayed, persevered, and trusted God through difficult

days.

People: Their stories remind us that God is faithful.

Leader: We celebrate Juneteenth, a reminder that freedom is precious and that God hears the

cries of God's people.

People: We give thanks for freedom, justice, and hope.

Leader: The prophet Micah asks, "What does the Lord require of you?"

People: To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.

Leader: When we see someone treated unfairly—

People: Help us act justly.

Leader: When others are hurting or in need—

People: Help us love mercy.

Leader: When we are tempted to go our own way—

People: Help us walk humbly with You.

Leader: As families, friends, neighbors, and the family of God—

People: May we grow in faith, hope, and love.

Leader: May our homes be places of kindness.

People: May our hearts be filled with compassion.

Leader: May our lives reflect God's justice and peace.

People: May we be a blessing to others.

Leader: Let us worship the God who leads us in freedom, faith, and love.

People: We will act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. Amen.
